Iron City Man Arrested In December Home Burglary
An Iron City man was arrested last week after officials found that items stolen during a home burglary in December, had been located at a pawn shop in Florence, Alabama.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to investigate the burglary at 236 Iron City Road, Iron City, on December 9, 2011.
Detectives investigated several leads in the case, to no avail. It was on January 31 that they determined that property from the burglary had been pawned in Florence.
The investigation led to the arrest of Wesley Allen Atwell, 23, of Iron City, on charges of aggravated burglary, vandalism, and theft of property. He was jailed at the Lawrence County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
